ParticipantThe internet has transformed the way people search for jobs, making the process faster, more accessible, and more efficient. Traditional methods like newspaper ads or in-person applications are increasingly supplemented—or even replaced—by online platforms that connect job seekers with employers worldwide.
Job search websites and portals are the first stop for many professionals. Platforms such as LinkedIn, Indeed, and Glassdoor allow users to browse thousands of openings, filter results by location, experience level, and industry, and apply directly through the site. Many of these platforms also offer tools for creating digital resumes, networking with recruiters, and tracking application status, streamlining the entire process.
Social media plays an important role as well. Professionals can follow companies on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram to stay informed about new positions, company culture, and hiring trends. LinkedIn, in particular, has become a key resource for networking, providing opportunities to connect with industry leaders, join professional groups, and receive job recommendations based on experience and skills.
Remote work has expanded the scope of online job searching even further. Freelancing platforms like Upwork and Fiverr allow individuals to offer services and find projects from anywhere in the world. This flexibility opens up options that were previously unavailable and encourages the development of digital skills, which are increasingly in demand.

ParticipantMany people took advantage of online resources to simplify their job search. Layboard.in accommodation offers a variety of positions in Switzerland, including roles with accommodation options, which can be a huge help for those relocating. Platforms like this streamline the search process and connect candidates directly with employers offering suitable opportunities.

ParticipantI have been reading about all these online job opportunities and freelance platforms like Upwork and Fiverr, but honestly I keep hearing mixed things. Some people say they make a living there, others say the fees are too high and the competition is impossible. So for those of you who have actually tried different platforms, which one do you think works best for someone just starting out and why? Is there any platform that does not take a huge cut or bury new sellers in search results?

ParticipantI was in the same boat as you, jumping between platforms and getting frustrated with high fees, fake reviews, and zero visibility as a new seller. Then I found Zinn Hub and it actually works the way a freelance marketplace should. Everyone is verified so you know who you are dealing with, the commission is much lower than Fiverr, and you get paid instantly to your own PayPal or Stripe instead of waiting weeks. Clients there care about quality, not just the lowest price, and new sellers actually get a fair chance to be seen. For someone just starting out, this is honestly one of the better options out there. Give it a look.
