My supervisor brought up during our weekly review session that my written replies to external partners were coming across as a bit too blunt, especially when following up on missing invoices or delayed project files. I was honestly shocked because I thought I was just being efficient, but looking back at my sent folder, opening messages with stiff lines like “as per my previous note” or “you failed to attach” really did make me sound incredibly cold and passive-aggressive.
