The Overlook neighborhood resides along the edge of a ridgeline providing unobstructed views of the Lower Ward. The locals here are somewhat isolated from travelers and visitors, and far fewer tourists visit this area of the city. Businesses cater to nearby residents and there’s a healthy amount of lower-middle-class labor jobs to be found here.
Despite the working-class attitudes, several prominent merchants and business owners make their homes in Overlook. The buildings along the ridgeline are some of the most expensive in the city on account of the panoramic views. This mixture of working-class and highbrow citizens creates an unusual social dynamic matched only in a few places in the Green Ward.
The roads near the bottleneck leading to the Lower Ward are some of the most congested in the city. These roads are treacherous when wet or covered in ice and snow. During the busiest times of the day, carts, mules, horses and porters will slow traffic to a crawl.
