I’ve been driving a Skoda Superb for about four years now and I love the car but I’ve always struggled with finding a good garage for it. The dealership is way too expensive for regular maintenance and the few independent garages I tried either didn’t know how to work on European cars or used cheap parts that didn’t last. It got to the point where I was considering selling the car just because I was tired of the hassle every time something needed fixing. Then last month my check engine light came on and the car started idling roughly. I was dreading dealing with it again. A colleague at work who also drives a Skoda told me about a place he’s been using for years. He said they specialize in European cars and their prices are very reasonable compared to the dealership. He gave me the number and I called them right away. I took the car in on a Saturday morning. They diagnosed the problem as a faulty ignition coil which apparently is common on these engines. They replaced all four coils because they said it’s better to do them together. The total cost was less than half of what the dealership quoted me for just the diagnosis. The car has been running perfectly ever since. I’m so relieved to finally have a garage I can rely on. I wanted to share this here in case anyone else with a Skoda is feeling as frustrated as I was.
