I’m feeling really isolated in my freshman year. Is there a way to reach out to other students without sounding desperate on my main Insta?

A lot of freshmen feel that way, honestly. Try sharing secrets anonymously on a local feed. You’ll be surprised how many people are in the exact same boat and want to chat.

That makes me feel a bit better. I’ll give it a shot tonight.

Social media offers a better understanding of the student atmosphere. Many people follow events, clubs, and activities through Instagram Stories. Sometimes it’s more convenient to first see what other students are up to, what events are happening, and where like-minded people gather.
By viewing Stories, for example, you can stay up-to-date on what’s going on without having to be active right away.

The idea of not trying to immediately approach them directly through their main Instagram account seems quite reasonable. You can discreetly peek at what other people are up to using the tool https://peekviewer.com/instagram-story-viewer/ without drawing attention to yourself. This will allow you to browse stories more discreetly and simply get a feel for the atmosphere without having to immediately engage in active communication.
