I’ve been driving a 2014 Mitsubishi Pajero for a few years now and it’s been pretty solid, but lately I’ve noticed a weird grinding noise when I brake and I know I need to get it checked soon. The problem is, I’ve had such bad luck with garages in the past that I keep putting it off. Last year I took my wife’s car to a place that had good Google reviews, but they kept my car for three days, charged me a fortune, and the problem came back within a month. When I called to complain, they just gave me the runaround. So now I’m trying to be smarter about this. A guy at the petrol station told me to look at the 800Sayara car repair listing on a local business directory because it shows real customer feedback and you can see how long a business has been around. I thought that was actually pretty smart because anyone can pay for fake Google reviews, but business listings usually have more verified information. Before I choose a garage this time, I want to do my homework. For those of you who have lived here for a while, what’s your process for finding a good mechanic? Do you check business directories, ask on community Facebook groups, or just go by word of mouth from friends? I don’t mind paying a fair price for good work, I just want someone who will actually fix the problem the first time and not try to sell me ten other things I don’t need. Any suggestions would really help me out because I can’t keep avoiding this brake issue forever and I don’t want to get ripped off again.
