The Kingdoms of Kalamar campaign setting is a medieval-fantasy setting usable with almost any roleplaying game. In this realistic, dynamic world, complex political alliances mix with marauding bands of humanoids, and medieval technology and culture come face to face with magic and the fantastic. The Kingdoms of Kalamar fonts represent the written languages used by the most prominent human and humanoid races. More information about each race and their language can be found in the Kingdoms of Kalamar campaign setting sourcebook.

HUMAN AND HUMANOID LANGUAGES
————————————

The six human races are the Brandobians, Dejy, Fhokki, Kalamarans, Reanaarians and Svimohz. Note that the Brandobians and Kalamarans each have two fonts (ancient and modern), and the Dejy have no font, for their written word has been lost to time.

The five prominent humanoid races are the dwarves, elves, gnomes, halflings and hobgoblins. Note that dwarves write right to left, rather than left to right, and that the elven font is actually Low Elven, as the written High Elven is so intricate that it takes even a skilled scribe 3-4 hours to draw one character! Also, note that gnomes use the Dwarven font, while halflings rely on Merchant’s Tongue or the local human language to write their text.

Merchant’s Tongue is an international trader’s language, for which you can use a standard American or English font. However, each font does include the special Merchant’s Tongue numerals. In general, however, most races (especially humanoids) use their letters as numbers. For example, the first letter of the alphabet “A” represents the number “1”. The second letter of the alphabet “B” (or “AA” in Reanaarese) represents the number “2”, and so on.

INSTALLING MACINTOSH FONTS

In most cases, installing fonts on a Mac is as simple as dragging and dropping them into the System Fonts folder (Macintosh HD:System:Fonts). However, if you have any questions, you should always check your instruction manual, help files, or Macintosh technical support before installing.

Note that any currently running applications won’t be able to use the new fonts until you close them and restart them.

USING THE KINGDOMS OF KALAMAR FONTS
————————————

Once the fonts are installed, for the most part you use them in the manner you use any other font installed on your computer. Differences are noted below.

1) MISSING LETTERS
As you use these fonts, you will notice that some keystrokes leave a black rectangle in place of a letter. This indicates that the letter in question does not exist in that race’s alphabet.

2) ADDITIONAL LETTERS
As well as missing letters, these alphabets also have additional letters/sounds. These letters, as well as their keystrokes, are indicated below. Simply hold down the SHIFT key while striking the appropriate number key, just as you would normally (SHIFT + 1 = !).

IMPORTANT-READ CAREFULLY: This End-User License Agreement (“EULA”) is a legal agreement between you (either an individual or a single entity) and the manufacturer (“Kenzer and Company”) of the Kenzer and Company software product(s) identified above (“KINGDOMS OF KALAMAR FONTS”). By installing, copying, downloading, accessing or otherwise using the KINGDOMS OF KALAMAR FONTS, you agree to be bound by the terms of this EULA. If you do not agree to the terms of this EULA, Kenzer and Company are unwilling to license the KINGDOMS OF KALAMAR FONTS to you. In such event, you may not use or copy the KINGDOMS OF KALAMAR FONTS, and you should promptly contact Kenzer and Company for instructions on return of the unused product(s) for a refund.

KINGDOMS OF KALAMAR FONTS LICENSE
The KINGDOMS OF KALAMAR FONTS are protected by copyright laws and international copyright treaties, as well as other intellectual property laws and treaties. The KINGDOMS OF KALAMAR FONTS are licensed, not sold.

1. GRANT OF LICENSE. This EULA grants you the following rights:

Back-up Copy. You may make a single back-up copy of the KINGDOMS OF KALAMAR FONTS. You may use the back-up copy solely for archival purposes. Except as expressly provided in this EULA, you may not otherwise make copies of the KINGDOMS OF KALAMAR FONTS, including the printed materials accompanying the KINGDOMS OF KALAMAR FONTS.

2. DESCRIPTION OF OTHER RIGHTS AND LIMITATIONS.

Limitations on Reverse Engineering, Decompilation and Disassembly. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the KINGDOMS OF KALAMAR FONTS, except and only to the extent that such activity is expressly permitted by applicable law notwithstanding this limitation.

Rental. You may not rent, lease, lend or sell the KINGDOMS OF KALAMAR FONTS.

Trademarks. This EULA does not grant you any rights in connection with any trademarks or service marks of Kenzer and Company.

3. COPYRIGHT. All title and intellectual property rights in and to the KINGDOMS OF KALAMAR FONTS (including but not limited to any images and text incorporated into the KINGDOMS OF KALAMAR FONTS), and any copies of the KINGDOMS OF KALAMAR FONTS, are owned by Kenzer and Company. All rights not expressly granted under this EULA are reserved by Kenzer and Company.

4. TRADEMARKS. The Kingdoms of Kalamar is a registered trademark of Kenzer and Company. 5. SUPPORT. Support for the KINGDOMS OF KALAMAR FONTS is not provided by Kenzer and Company.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Kenzer and Company or its suppliers be liable for any damages whatsoever (including without limitation, special, incidental, consequential, or indirect damages for personal injury, loss of business profits, business interruption, loss of business information, or any other pecuniary loss) arising out of the use of or inability to use this product, even if Kenzer and Company has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
